Having trouble figuring out what to wear to a fancy summer wedding on the grass? I always suggest wearing wedges because there’s nothing worse than your heels sinking into the soggy grass! Well, I decided to go with gold flat sandals (it didn’t help that I had just severely sprained my ankle playing basketball weeks prior. There was no way I could put my foot into a high heeled shoe. This actually went on for months, but thankfully, all healed now!) So, wearing a long gown with sandals isn’t all that bad! Had I put a heel on, the dress might have been too short anyway (side note: there’s nothing worse than a dress that’s meant to be long, but a couple inches off the ground. This simply means, the dress is too short). I made it work, and didn’t feel as if my attire was “dressed down” because I wore sandals. The reason why-they were gold and somewhat of a more fancier sandal, and also because my dress did all the talking (and my fancy earrings helped as well). So, whatever you do, don’t wear a heel to a wedding that you will be standing on grass, rather, select a fancy flat (if you have to!) or a wedge so you don’t sink in.
