My Tricks to Looking Tan in the Winter

So for those of you who thought I was naturally tan in the winter (from my bday pics)…welp…you are so totally wrong!  After listening to NPR one day, and hearing them say that tanning booths are just as bad as smoking cigarettes, I was sure that I would never step foot in another one, EVER again.  My trick…dun dun dun! SELF TANNER!  There’s nothing quite like a summer glow…but if you can’t travel in the winter months, try my quick fix.

1). Make sure you exfoliate really well before first use.

2). I use a couple different lotions, for different areas of my body.

I use the gel for my legs (L’Oreal sublime-you can actually use this daily and mix it with your everyday lotion).  I use Jergens Natural Glow Express (this works faster than most) for my upper body/face.  I use L’Oreal Sublime Bronze before I step out of the house to go out if I’m wearing a dress or skirt (I use this just for my legs because it has a lot of shimmer-this is supposedly suppose to work immediately).  And lastly, I use spray only for the tops of my hands (you have to be really careful applying these lotions, and make sure you wash your hands thoroughly afterwards or else they will be blotchy).

Once you wash it all off, your hands will not be tan.  It will look weird. Which is why, after I wash and dry my hands, I spray this lightly only on the tops and blend to my wrists/arms.  This will add just a bit of color so theres no drastic change between my arms and hands.  Now, if your not crazy like myself, you only need one.  I suggest going with the Jergens.  It works well, and quickly.
