4 Ways to Style Bike Shorts

When bike shorts became a thing I literally jumped for joy. Because of my body shape, regular ole shorts don’t exist in my closet. They’re often too short (I’d prefer to keep my booty covered) and they ride up (which means, I have to constantly pull them down). They’re a headache to wear and just downright uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure bike shorts were made for me! They stay in place [hallelujah!], they’re comfy, they have LOTS of stretch, and are the perfect length. Did I also mention, super versatile? Peep how I styled them below!

Look1:

Let’s start off with a basic casual bike short, an oversized graphic tee and some kicks. It’s the classic way to style them, and maybe the easiest! You essentially can’t go wrong. *TIP* Make sure the tee is actually oversized and falls below the tush (and not just half way).

A bit too basic for you and want to level up? Throw on a leather [oversized sweatshirt or sweater], a statement hat [or baseball hat] and some heels [or flats]. Boom. Same base layers, but transformed.

Look 2:

Take a classic blazer, your favorite bike shorts or in my case, faux leather bike shorts, pumps/heels and you have yourself a verrrry chic outfit. Business on the top, party on the bottom! It’s all about balance! [If oversized, add a belt to create shape and accentuate your waist].

Look 3:

Another fun way to style them is to wear one color from head to toe for a cute Monochromatic moment. Find the same color bike short, top and shoes to create a seamless and trendy look. You certainly don’t have to go all silver editorial like I did! All silver looks great in photos but in my personal opinion, isn’t an everyday look. I wanted to play and create something super fun and editorial. All black might be more wearable and very chic. All white? Pick your favorite color and go with that!

Look 4:

An athletic look is a must! This look is perfect for not only working out in, but looking super cute while hanging after your killer workout. It’s essentially athleisure, totally appropriate for either or. I mean, you don’t really have to work out in them if you don’t want (but I do encourage you to move your body every day), but creating a sporty look with bike shorts is my most favorite thing to do. Grab your shorts, pair it with a cropped workout top or sports bra and some fire sneaks! Sporty chic and comfort is the name of the game.
