Sequins, beads, silks and everything embellished are perfect for both Christmas and NYE.  Mix and match something embellished with simpler unfussy articles, or go super bold with mixing and matching embellishments like I did above.  However, a general rule of thumb is to keep ONE statement piece the focal point.  Wearing two statement pieces could call for a disaster.
