Jeans are hard for me. Jean shorts are harder. They always have been. Too short, too big around the waist, fabric rising up into the crotch area when I walk, etc. You know, the most annoying things a jean short could be.
But I’ve finally found the equation to finding the almost perfect pair of jeans shorts for my shape. I have thick thighs, wide hips, a big butt and a small waist. Finding jean shorts that have the perfect proportions is nearly impossible. Companies aren’t designing for my shape (unless you’re Khloé Kardasian/Good American Jeans or companies that have finally included a ‘curve’ line to their otherwise ordinary straight shaped/”perfectly” proportioned options).
They also don’t use curvy fit models that have my shape (unless you’re Measure&Made!) Fit models are models that try on the garments and give feedback about the fit to the designers, etc. before the final product goes into production. So they are tried on actual humans to make sure they fit properly and can make any adjustments that are needed.
What’s my equation to finding the perfect jean shorts?
(High Rise) + (3″+inseam) + (stretch) = The almost perfect jean shorts.
I’ve styled 2 different pairs of jean shorts in the video above for some summer outfit ideas. The first pair you see is the Boyfriend Jean Short from Target and the second one is a high waisted cuffed pair from H&M.
