If you think you’ve seen this dress recently, you’re right! I wore this white poplin dress that I got from Zara while in Detroit. The first time I ever put it on, was right before walking to brunch to meet my best friends parents. While walking, I had a few Marilyn Monroe moments, not realizing what the wind would do to it and that I totally needed to wear something underneath! Immediately after brunch, I B-lined it right back to the hotel as quickly and graceful as possible to figure something out. I wasn’t about to spend the whole day moseying about Detroit worried if I’ll flash someone (again). I threw on jean shorts and called it a day. Phew.
Going forward, the dress was not going to be a dress for me. I knew I would be uncomfortable wearing it again if I didn’t have something underneath it. I came up with a solution! Pairing it with my favorite army green silk pants did the trick.
The moral of the story is this: you can wear things in so many more ways than you think! Even if something is labeled a “dress,” I suggest you try wearing it in a way your normally might not think is “right!” You might surprise yourself!
