August 2013, Martha’s Vineyard, MA

I was fortunate to travel a ton during this past summer.  I was across the country and up and down the coast.  This particular weekend was not for work but rather for fun!

I spent the better part of a week on Martha’s Vineyard, with a very close girlfriend of mine, and adored everything about the island!  Interestingly enough, this was my first time visiting this part of Massachusetts.  For starters, I grew up in Massachusetts, in the country nonetheless.  But I spent my childhood summers growing up on Cape Cod.  You would have thought I would have made it across the water at least once!

Every step I took I had my camera in hand, obviously.  As you may, or may not know, I spent my undergraduate years studying Photography.  Then I went on to grad school to study fashion design at Parsons.  I feel so lucky to have spent my school years painting, drawing, photographing, being a creative soul, instead of taking tests (which I’m terrible at!).  Although, for the 5 or 6 art history classes I took throughout the 4 years, I did have to memorize thousands of paintings and was tested on them!

None of these photos are edited (most of my photos from this last year aren’t!), simply because the Mac I have is from 2005 and no longer wants to run quickly, precisely, and doesn’t launch my Photoshop anymore.  *sigh*  It’s been like this for far too long and I can’t take it anymore!  I feel like part of me has been missing!  Usually people feel like this if they don’t have their phone by there side, but nope, me…I feel incomplete without Photoshop!  Ha.  Can’t wait to get a working computer again and to finally have photoshop again!  I seriously will feel like a new woman

…crossing my fingers Santa saw that I was a very good girl this year!

Anyway…I have a few posts with some of my favorite photos of the weekend.  I wanted to capture what makes this little town so special, for example “Back Door Donuts.”  A MV’s staple.

Enjoy!

xx
