If you didn’t know (and I didn’t before visiting), Detroit has become one of the most vibrant centers for street art in the country. The creative spirit is so incredibly alive and doing very well in the “Motor City.” The art is so powerful and positive that it has revitalized the city. I can tell that it promises a better future and more wonderful things to come for the city.

Detroit brings many artists and budding real-estate buyers to the city, however, my best friend that once lived in NYC and who may love art just as much as I do, urged me and ten others to come visit her place of birth and current temporary (I hope!) residency. Unsure of what to expect, I was completely blown away by the abandoned city that now has a new face. Homes completely empty and boarded up, next to their perfectly fine neighbor’s mansion, the new buildings (or facelifted) downtown and especially the art (and art scene) is what gave us all good energy for the entirety of the weekend.

Take a peek through my trip to the D and enjoy the vibrant art and beautiful architecture.
