What is your style? Are you a minimalist or someone who prefers to standout from the crowd? When I think about my style, Dr. Seuss’ words “Why try and fit in when you were born to stand out?” come to top of mind immediately. I don’t like to define my style but if I were to use a few adjectives, I’d use; brave, feminine, rebellious, unique, bold, and so on and so forth. Actually, that sounds way cooler than what my style is probably like in real life. There’s something to be said about how I feel on the inside! 😉
When I’m trying to figure out what to wear on any given (Sun)day, I am drawn to one statement piece and then revolve the rest of my outfit around it. From the simplest of things like neon statement sneakers (did I really just refer to neon sneakers as simple?), to a wildly outrageous (read: in the best possible way) red faux fur jacket. Statement jackets make getting dressed during the winter so incredibly fun and often times, the only piece of clothing people see. Jackets are the easiest way to dress up any boring old outfit.
Sidenote: I hate taking off my jacket when I get somewhere…sometimes it is my outfit. I’ll just boil, it’s all good. I like being warm anyway. I’ll be fine.
Statement jackets perk up winter wear with ease. From coats to kimonos, bombers to puffers. Prints and silhouettes to colors and fringe. Statement jackets are a necessity, especially between November and March. There’s a friendly balance between warmth and show stopper. They can be worn by the ultra laid back jeans-and-tee gal or by the woman who is on the constant hunt for a wow factor (ahem, me!).
So! If you’re going to purchase one new item of clothing this winter, let it be a rad new statement jacket. It’s time to take center stage!
