The W Hotel, Punta de Mita Mexico

The W Hotel in Punta de Mita is in my top 5 hotels of ALL time. When did I visit? Sooo…I went to Mexico in the height of the pandemic (October 2020). Was it the smartest thing to do? No. But was it worth it? 1,000,00%!!! To make myself feel better for making a rash decision, it was for “work.” One of my closest friends hired me to shoot content for her and she put us up in what ended up being one of my most favorite hotels to date.

Where did I go?

Well, of course you know, I didn’t go to Tulum like everyone else. I went as far away from people as I could possible get, which took us to the W Hotel in Punta de Mita, on the West Coast of Mexico. The hotel was DROP DEAD. The best thing about it? Occupancy was only about 10%. We essentially had the entire place to ourselves. The pool, the restaurant, the beach. It was glorious and I kinda wish traveling was like this all the time (the less people the better!). I try to find the exclusive, off the beaten path type places (like St. Lucia) and try to avoid going to super popular/viral places (ie. Tulum).

*I am heading to Greece in July, which is the most popular time to go (ugh), but I don’t really have another choice. I’d much prefer to go in September when there are far less people.

This suite is wild. It’s a 2 bedroom suite that has 2 bathrooms, a huge pool that surrounds the living room and foosball. The space is incredible and perfect for 2 couples or a family trip.
